Client Spotlight: LEM
LEM Plastics, located in Fairfield, New Jersey has been in business for 50 years. Ellen Pietrowitz-Phillips, President, purchased the company 23 years ago. According to Ellen, LEM Plastics “makes things that make things happen.” The company is a fabricator and distributor of raw material plastics, sheet, rod, tubing, and film. LEM plastics offers build-to-print fabrication services that supply components for the International Space Station, patient monitoring equipment and to the production line at Budweiser.
Prior to implementing EOS within LEM, Ellen had tried other methods to get the company headed in the right direction but could not obtain the buy-in from the team. Ellen was already familiar with EOS and knew Marc so it made sense for her to see how EOS could help. About a year ago the team began implementing EOS. Finally, everyone on the team had a voice and EOS helped them paint the picture of where they were heading as an organization. Ellen stated that because they followed the plan from year one to year two business went up 51%. Not only did business go up but the team personified motivation, accountability and a clear plan.
In sessions Marc could connect with everyone on the team whether that was as a big brother, coach, or business partner. Ellen notes that Marc is disarming and in charge, funny yet reserved, can be tough but also knows when to be kind. Marc has allowed the team to reframe issues and has helped them achieve growth like never before. Ellen attributes LEM’s success over the past year to following the EOS model and Marc’s dedication to success.
